Monday, July 4th is Independence Day.
How lucky we are as Americans! How thankful we are to be One Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
Sometimes we take for granted what we might call our basic freedoms — our freedom of speech, our freedom to worship as we see fit, our freedom to pursue happiness, and our freedom to bear arms. These are the freedoms that set us apart from almost every country of the world and they are precious. People of our nation’s past were responsible for us obtaining freedom. People of today (and in our future), play a part in us keeping it. We are also thankful to God for entrusting us with this privilege of being free and the responsibilities we have because of it. I’m sure you join with me in thoughts of thankfulness and appreciation for our nation’s birthday.
Have fun with family and friends over the holiday
Enjoy the stars and stripes, the red, white, and blue, and maybe a cook out and some safe fireworks!
